My fashion article on Castanet this week is all about the bikini! Now, you may look at the title and say “Uh, Alana, that’s kind of obvious. A bikini consists of two parts, people wear a bikini on the beach, and when they leave they put back on their street clothes”. Yes, in an ideal world, this is the case.
However, life isn’t always this un-complicated. I live in a beautiful part of the country that attracts a lot of tourists to our beautiful beaches, and a shocking number of these girls believe that a two piece swimsuit equals a two piece outfit. Over the August Long Weekend I hit my breaking point; I’m not sure if it was the row of lady lumps in the line-up at Starbucks or the barely-covered butt cheeks in my face at the grocery store sent me over the edge, but it stoked the fire within me. And so my post was born: How to Wear A Bikini (without looking like a failed Jersey Shore contestant).
This time I decided to style my outfits on a lovely model with a hot physique: Rachel Doell from Daily Routine Blog. I can’t remember having more fun at a shoot! It was such a great experience stepping back from the camera and styling for a change; ,it also had the side benefit of making me really appreciate my wardrobe by seeing my clothes on someone else. Styling is a huge a passion of mine and I can’t wait to do it again!
Thanks Rachel for your help, you were AMAZING!
