summer cover ups
London was the first honeymoon destination for Rhys and I. Of course, I was obsessed with packing the perfect things in order to feel fashionable and my best in Europe. I was shopping and preparing for weeks! As it turned out, I did a rather poor job because I didn’t check the weather at all in London! The entire week it was rainy and cold, which would have been fine if I hadn’t only packed summer clothes. I had only packed two pairs of pants and two jackets. After a week of wearing the same pants and jackets it left me: a) wishing I could wear my suitcase full of shorts and tanks, and b) yearning for all my blazers and summer jackets back home. I am now officially sick of my Zara blue jean jacket and black boyfriend blazer.
My Okanaganista column last Friday was all about what to do when the weather turns on you. The summer cover up is a must have item, and the Jean Jacket, the Blazer and the Kimono (oh my gosh, especially the kimono!!!) are the best options for this season!
I’ve always been in love with blue jean jackets and can always remember wearing them. Now, I can’t help but buy them up in every fade and cut. As of now I think I have 4 and I’m on the hunt for a cropped faded version as well as a motorcycle style.
Maxi Dress: Bought in Santorini
Jean Jacket: Zara
Sunnies: Marc Jacobs
I love that you can find blazers in every color and pattern! What started off with a few solid color boyfriend jackets in my closet has now become a closet full of every type of blazer and an unhealthy obsession with wanting them in every color and style.
Tank: American Eagle
Silk Shorts: Wilfred via Aritzia
Sunnies: Michael Kors
Kimonos are my new love! They are perfect for summer and go with everything. So light and breezy that you can even wear them to the beach over your bikini. Now to only find one in the traditional fun flower pattern.

How do you guys cover up when the summer days turn into summer nights?
